With Great Music
Comes Great Responsibility

Hi. I’m Joe. I’m eighteen and a music devotee. These reviews are like my creative exorcisms and it would be nice if people read them. If you read any of them, please leave a comment or suchlike.
I’m also on twitter and LastFM.

Rating Definitions:

10:  There is a hole in your record collection only this can fill.
9:  If you’re anything like me, you’ll love this record.
8: If you’re anything like me, you’ll really like this record.
7: It’s good, but not great, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good.
6: Definitely worth a look. Possibly inconsistent, but a fair few tracks are really worth your time.
5: It’s ok. Possibly could’ve made a good EP, but it’s mostly not worth it.
4: One or two tracks hit the mark just about nicely, the rest are not longed for this world.
3: May have one or two good moments but they don’t even begin to compensate for this pretty rubbish record.
2: Poor. No matter how much time you invest in it, it never improves. Back to the drawing board.
1: Boring, turgid, annoying, samey, uninspiring, evil and/or offensive throughout. Abandon hope.

I found your blog through a friend’s ‘Blogroll’ – it’s incredible! I’m particularly enjoying your Best 100 Records of the 90s posts (I’m a Britpop aficionado). I have a 5-word-reviews blog but it just doesn’t compare.
Keep writing – if you don’t become a music journalist, there’s no justice in the world.

And I’d also like to know what you think of the new Surfer Blood, Hole and We Are Scientists albums.

Thank you thank you. Your post about Glastonbury 2010, where you heard Ultramarine – Every Man and Woman Is A Star.. I have been looking for this song for about 10 years, but all I could remember was the first line “It was up in the mountains..”. Your post enabled me to find it and for that I am truly thankful.

    Joe! I love your blog!
I don’t know if you’ve heard his stuff, but check out Jonsi- the lead singer of Sigur Ros… Having the amazing music taste that you do, chances are you’re already aware of him!!! But anyway, beautiful music!

Yeah Callum Gray told me about ‘Go Do’ and it was amazing! I still haven’t heard the rest of the album though. Will soon.
You have pretty damn awesome taste. I’m so flattered you like my writing!! Megayays!!

God you’re amazing. No I haven’t reviewed it yet but Henry gave it to me for my birthday so I’m gonna review it when I’ve finished my 90’s countdown.
